PACK PRIDE Staff Spotlight: Kendall Summers-Pipkin

Meet our November Pack Pride Spotlight: Kendall Summers-Pipkin!

As an English Language Arts (ELA) teacher at Barker Middle School, Kendall says her goal is “to help students grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally.”

According to Principal Lucas Snyder, who nominated her for this recognition, she has gone above and beyond in achieving that goal.

“Kendall consistently promotes positive behaviors throughout her classroom and school community, creating an environment where students thrive both academically and socially,” said Principal Snyder. The ELA teacher has plenty to show for it!

Mrs. Summers-Pipkin was proud to share that the majority of her students have either earned honor roll or made tremendous improvement in grades and behavior from last year. She is motivated to work with students to reach their full potential before high school, and understands she has limited time to do so. It’s inspiring to see her efforts paying off.

She hopes to make all her students “feel welcomed in an environment where they can confidently be themselves.” Her commitment to creating a positive classroom environment has made a meaningful impact.

“She exemplifies exceptional teaching through her remarkable ability to meet each student exactly where they are in their learning journey,” Principal Snyder added. “Her individualized approach ensures that every child feels valued and supported, regardless of their starting point or challenges.”

Kendall is as strong a team member as she is a teacher. Principal Snyder applauded her positive impact on the workplace. Noting her as a “vital contributor to her team’s collaborative culture, bringing enthusiasm, insight, and unwavering support to her colleagues.”

Mrs. Summers-Pipkin's generous support of her team and school comes from a genuine love for her work.

“I love working at Barker with an administration and staff that cares about the students and the culture of the building just as much as I do,” she shared.

Kendall is a model instructor, a trusted teammate, and an embodiment of the MCAS 7 Habits of Character. Principal Snyder pointed out that her strongest habits are empathy and flexibility, as she is always patient with others, practices a growth mindset, and helps students when they face challenges.

All in all, Mrs. Summers-Pipkin’s “dedication to student growth and her positive influence on school culture” make her deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Kendall!
