How to Sign Up for MCAS Text Alerts

Opting in is quick and easy and takes a few seconds.

Step 1: From your mobile phone, text "YES" to 67587.

Step 2: You will receive a confirmation message that says: "You're registered for SchoolMessenger notifications. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."

Once you receive this message, your number is successfully registered.

Additional Information

  • You will need to repeat this opt-in process for each wireless number you would like to receive messages.
  • If you're unsure whether you have already opted in, you may safely repeat the process. Sending YES more than once will not cause any issues.
  • Parents/Guardians, in addition to opting in, please make sure your wireless number is on file with the district. If you need to update or add a phone number, contact your child’s school office directly.  If a parent's number is not in SIS, they will not get SM texts even if they opt in.
  • SchoolMessenger support confirmed that staff members and parents who are signed up with multiple districts using SchoolMessenger will receive text messages from each district. We also tested this on our end, and the MCAS message was delivered successfully. MCAS texts will begin with “MCAS” so recipients can easily identify which district the message is coming from.
  • Michigan City Area Schools does not charge for this service. However, standard text messaging rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
  • This service is provided by SchoolMessenger Solutions. More information can be found at www.SchoolMessenger.com/tm.
