Multi-Sensory Environments

Michigan City Area Schools offers Multi-Sensory Environments (MSEs) at several schools. These rooms serve students with special sensory, emotional, or physical needs during the school day.

These areas provide a comfortable setting for students, helping them build self-regulation skills that contribute to their peace and success. They feature equipment such as large swings, soothing music, darkened areas with fiber optics, bubble tubes, and much more.

THANK YOU to the following funders who have made our multi-sensory environments possible!

  • Healthcare Foundation of LaPorte
  • Unity Foundation of LaPorte County
  • Diane and Geoff Minott (Donors Choose)
  • Michigan City Human Rights Commission
