Developmental Pre-K

Special Education Preschool Services

Programs for Pre-K students with Special Needs are provided by Michigan City Area Schools at Knapp, Springfield, and Pine Elementary Schools. For more information, call the Special Education Department at (219) 873-2000, ext. 8333.

MCAS Developmental PreK serves children ages 3 to 5 with special needs:

  • Hearing or vison impairments
  • Language delays
  • Mild, moderate or severe cognitive impairments
  • Physical impairments
  • Or a combination of special needs

Free!

Our tuition-free program is designed for children who have mild to severe delays in speech, language, social skills, motor skills, or learning.

Licensed teachers, therapists, and trained support staff will serve the needs of your student.

Services and placement are determined on an individual basis by a Case Conference Committee and are based on a child's needs.
