Sodexo - Plant Planning

Michigan City Area Schools' Plant Planning Department is comprised of the Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds Departments. We partner with Sodexo to provide these services. Staff includes 62 custodians at all MCAS buildings, in addition to 16 maintenance and 5 grounds employees at the Plant Planning Building.

Plant Planning processes facility rental requests and schedules events at all locations. Please click through the Facility Rental tab for more information about facility use.

The department also maintains landscaping and performs snow removal at all facilities, repairs and maintains all systems and buildings, and moves equipment and materials when needed. Plant Planning works with developers and contractors for special projects, renovations, and construction.

Charges & Priorities For Use Of School Facilities/Equipment

To ensure fairness and consistency in the implementation of Board policy governing use of school facilities and/or equipment, the following categories are established to determine priorities and a schedule of fees for approved users outside regular or extracurricular programs or activities when designated space and facilities are available.

In all cases, emergency uses for disasters, shelter needs, and the like will take precedence.

Category 2: M.C. Parks and Recreation Program Groups

Category 3: Community, Government, and/or Private Non-Profit Groups

Category 4: All Other Groups
